I would like to know few Tips that will help my work a bit easier, Like having a short cut for removing USB, and so on. If there is any video explaining the same, Please do the needful for providing the link towards the same.

Hi Nicki,

Generally we remove the USB drives by using the 'Safely Remove Hardware' icon found in the system tray. However, it is possible to create shortcuts for removing USB drives.

These simple steps should help –

  1. Right-click anywhere on the desktop and choose New > Shortcut. Safely Remove Hardware
  2. Place this text 'RunDll32.exe shell32.dll,Control_RunDLL hotplug.dll' in the shortcut location. Process to create shortcuts
  3. Save the shortcut and name it safely-remove-hardware.exe, a shortcut with this name should now be present in the desktop.
  4. Right click on the shortcut, select properties, choose your preferred shortcut key, we chose Ctrl + Alt + S.Choose you prefered shortcut keys
