Hi guys,

I am currently using Mozilla Thunderbird: a free, open source, cross-platform email and news client .

I am trying to send an email using thunderbird but each time I fail and get the following error message on my screen:

Send this message now

Send Message Error

Sending of message failed.

There was an error attacking. Please check if you have access to the file.

                                                                                  OK

There are 50 users who are running Ubuntu Server 10.04 LTS on a thin client environment. All are successfully sending and receiving emails except 1 user who is not able to send the email. He receives the above mentioned error.

Can anyone please guide me out of this problem?

Looking forward to your suggestions

Regards

Rachel

Thunderbird not able to send emails

Hello Janetdschall!

Please verify your Firewall or Anti-virus program is not blocking Thunderbird from connecting to the internet. Some anti-virus software blocks port 25 to prevent mass emailing worms from sending out email. If you recently upgraded Thunderbird, verify that the firewall is not blocking the new version.

Verify the settings in Thunderbird match what your ISP provides. Please copy the exact settings.
