Hello experts,

Is there a windows music equalizer? I am using windows 7 starter 32 bit operating system in my hp laptop. I am just wondering if there is a possibility that windows 7 will offer an update regarding audio or any sound enhancement application. I need some information.

Thanks.

Dear,

The only “windows” equalizer that you can find is the one built into your Windows media player, but this equalizer only works while you are using the WMP. An equalizer that you can use at any purpose for online or offline music listening is the one that comes with your sound chip drivers, but if you are using a simple built-in sound card, it usually has poor adjustments. More expensive PCI sound cards come with more sophisticated equalizers.

Windows 7 does not provide any update to enhance the equalizer. This is more hardware problem.

One possibility is to update your sound card driver to get a newer version of the equalizer, hopefully a better one, or you can try a non-Windows freeware equalizer software.

I hope this helps you.

Kind regards.

Hi Stephen Heris,

Yes, there is software that Microsoft offer to enhance audio/sound of your computer. The software is Audio Essential. You can download it using Windows Media Player. Open your Windows Media Player then right click at the screen, select Enhancement, then SRS Wow Effects. Just click “SRS(0)” sign then media player will take you to their download site, and then download the file and install it to your computer, or just turn on your automatic update so that your OS will automatically download some update for your PC. You can also use third party software to enhance your audio just like Breakaway Audio Enhancer.
