Hi guys.  I have a Windows XP 64 bit SP2 laptop.  I'm trying to connect to our Novel Client workstation for file system access and network browsing.  I get the "a required network service failed to start" error.  Is there a Novell Client chip XP compatible?

Hello,

How are you doing? Hope you are fine. Sorry to disappoint you but the bad news is that there is no Novell Client for the 64 bit version of windows XP or windows 2003. The only option you have is to upgrade to Window 7 or a newer Operating system.

Hello Elsiet

This issue was discussed in the past. And it seemed like Novel Client will have a version compatible with Windows XP 64-bit. Unfortunately, after some debates, Novell said that they have no plans to develop such a version.

However, it is compatible with Windows XP/2003 on the 32bit. So you could install another version of Windows XP, only this time on 32bit.

I will provide you with some links, if you want to read more about this, and know better how to use the software, and also a download link for the 32bit version of Novel Client.

I hope you will find this information useful.
