I'm trying to reinstall everything (start from scratch) on my Royal Penguin GNU /Linux Notebook.
I need a snapshot of what is happening (the Linux install and the boot partition).
Is there a feature such as global disk image Ubuntu utility like what Windows offers?

You can make GUI tools like: GUIdd.sh.
You can also use The Clonezilla Live or Ghost for Linux.
The Clonezilla Live which is the better option for it is more updated (2010) than Ghost for Linux whose version is 2009.
Clonezilla supports multicasting whereas Ghost allows resizing of a partition which Clonezilla doesn’t support.
