The Sony Vaio webcam software has stopped working suddenly. The camera driver software has stopped and is not opening, may be virus has affected it. What should I do?
Sometimes the webcam software gets disable so try to check first whether your webcam is enabled. Go to the device manager, then video controller and check in the listed items and activate it if not done. If it is showing active and any error is detected this means that you have to go to Sony’s official site and download Sony Vaio web cam software and proceed with the installation. This will fix the bug.
If you have a Sony VAIO laptop and the webcam is not working that means there is a problem with the driver. This doesn’t mean that your webcam is broken. The problem there is the driver that runs the device. Normally, when you buy a laptop or a branded desktop computer, it comes with a CD that contains the installers and drivers for the computer.
Since there is a problem with the webcam, you need to uninstall the driver. Download Revo Uninstaller Freeware. Follow the instructions to download and unpack and then install it. Once installed, start Revo then select your webcam software from the list. Click “Uninstall” then follow the instructions to completely remove everything the application created on your computer. Restart your computer.
After booting, insert the installer CD that came with your laptop and look for the driver for your webcam. Like other laptops, the disc should contain many different versions of the installer. If there are more than one installer for the webcam, try every one of them then see if the webcam works.
In case none of the drivers worked, go to Sony Drivers, Firmware, and Software to look for the driver. Select your machine under the category and follow the instructions. Before downloading, make sure you select your current operating system.
