Textmate cannot be opened on Mac

Hello,

I am facing an error when I try to install the application ‘TextMate’ on my Mac. It says TextMate is from an unidentified developer and should this be opened. I am using Mountain Lion on my machine. Why am I getting this error? I didn’t open TextMate because I was not sure if it would cause trouble in some way. Are there certain applications blocked by Apple? Will installing them harm the system? Or is there a work around to continue using these applications? Please help me with these issues. Your help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

“Textmate” is form an unidentified

developer Are you sure you want to open it?

Opening “TextMate” will always allow it to run on this

Mac.

Hi Amanda,

The message comes up because of your Macs security settings. The settings are set up so that when reading the file it brings up this warning. All that needs to be done is a small change within your security settings. When the window image pops up again saying “textmate is unidentifiable” click on the ? on the bottom left of the window. The apple menu will open and at this point click on the security and privacy icon. Look under the general section and at the bottom it should say anywhere. Click the anywhere box. Now you should be able to download all files from any source.
