Hello, I’m going to use the new iPad as the benchmark in pc tablets. The new Toshiba Excite 10 is thinner than the new iPad. Right now it’s the world’s thinnest and lightest pc tablet. According to most review Excite 10 is one star under the new iPad.
The screen is LED backlit and has good quality but most review agrees it does not match with the new iPad from Apple. However, it is bigger and is scratch resistant glass and Toshiba claims that it uses bulletproof glass on its screen. Backlight bleeding is obvious when viewing black screens on the tablet. Most tablets has it’s own issue on backlight bleeding.
Its main camera on its back side is 5mega pixels just like the iPad and has a LED flash. It also has better mega pixel value on its front side camera at 2 mega pixel compare to 0.3MP of iPad. However, picture quality is not a good as Samsung galaxy or iPad.
Its current price is $499.99 on 16GB model. Reviews agree it’s a bit too high compare to other tablets.
The best feature on this tablet is its weight of only 1.28 pounds. This is a slight difference compare to iPad (1.44 lbs) but you will notice it once you are carrying your tablet for a long time in one hand.
