Hello,

After I installed TeamViewer this error appears every time I want to open the program.  This error appears even when I try to open the program from this address: C:Program Files(x86)TeamViewerVersion8TeamViewer.exe. I don’t know how can this be fixed so can anyone please help me with this one? What is wrong? I have installed the program following the standard steps…

Thank you!

C:Program Files(x86)TeamViewerVersion8TeamViewer.exe

Windows cannot find ‘C:Program Files(x86)TeamViewerVersion8TeamViewer.exe’. Make sure that you typed the name correctly, and then try again.

I presume you are using Microsoft Windows 7 64-bit because of the string “x86” in the Program Files folder. You normally see “x86” appended in the Program Files folder if you are running x64 Microsoft Windows. But even if you are running a 64-bit operating system, it is still capable of opening x86 applications because the operating system run it under 32-bit compatibility mode.

So in your case, it’s obvious that you are running an old version which is probably what’s causing the issue. To do it properly, download the latest version from TeamViewer 9.0.27614 for Windows. The latest version works on Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8. Though it didn’t say specifically if you can use it on x64 operating systems, it’s generally understood that you can use it on x64 Microsoft Windows.

Uninstall your current version then click Start, All Programs, Accessories, System Tools, and click Disk Cleanup. Select drive C and click OK. Check “Temporary files”, click OK, and then click Delete Files to confirm. Wait until it is finished and then restart the computer. Install TeamViewer 9.0.27614 and then see if it works. If it doesn’t, run it as administrator.

Right-click on the TeamViewer icon and select Properties. Select Compatibility tab, check “Run this program as an administrator”, and then click OK. Start TeamViewer again and see if it works.
