Hello all,

I have recently been trying to install teamviewer for desktop sharing, and I installed it successfully.

After its installation, I am met with the following error:

TeamViewer

The error reads as:

An error occurred during the initialization of TeamViewer. Probably some security software blocks network communication on this machine. Please permit network communication on this machine to use TeamViewer.

Can anyone please help me sort out the error?

I'll be really grateful.

Regards.

Dibri

Hello Dibri,

That is probably a DNS issue, and therefore you will need to resolve it as follows:

  • On your computer click on Start, and then in start search type inncpa.cpl and press enter to open Network connections window.
  • After that go to the Network Connection window and then right click on “Local Area Connection” and then select properties.
  • And then click Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) and then the Properties button in Local Area Connection Properties.
  • You will need to select Use the following DNS server addresses: and then type in4.2.2.1 for your Primary DNS.
  • Select OK/Close to the windows and test Internet Explorer.

Regards,

Nicke

This could be a firewall restricting Skype installations. Disable the firewall and try to install again. Follow below steps to disable the firewall:

  • Go to control panel.
  • Click on windows Firewall.
  • Click on Windows Firewall on or off on the left side menu.
  • Click the radio button Turn off windows firewall.
  • Now try again to install Skype.
