Hiya,

I have an installer file for TeamViewer 5, and I have installed the application on a couple of Windows XP systems.

However I have not been able to install the software on one the Windows XP Sp2 system as it gives me an invalid opcode error.

TeamViewer 5 Setup
Installer Corrupted: Invalid opcode

Strange as the same executable is working on other systems.

Hello Hunter,

It seems that the exe file is corrupted by the w32 virus that is why it causes this error. It is better to use the latest version of team viewer software. I will provide you the URL address to download it.

Thanks.

Dear Davis Avon,
It is preferred that you download the file again from this URL:
https://www.teamviewer.com/en/download/windows/
After you have downloaded the file, close any open browsers and run the install as the administrator to prevent any error that can occur after installing.
Restart the PC after the install is complete.
Hope that this was helpful

If you are installing TeamViewer on computers with Microsoft Windows XP then I don’t think that error is related to compatibility. If that error pops up when installing on a particular computer with the same operating system, it means that your installer is now damaged or corrupt. This is actually not a problem because you can easily download the application from its official website.

To make sure you are installing the latest version, download the latest TeamViewer. You can install and use TeamViewer from the newest down to the oldest operating system. If you have Windows 98, Windows Millennium, or Windows NT 4.0 SP6a, you can install TeamViewer 1 up to TeamViewer 6. If you have Windows 2000 Service Pack 4, you can install TeamViewer 1 up to TeamViewer 8.

If you have Windows XP Service Pack 3, you can install TeamViewer 1 until TeamViewer 13. If you have Windows Vista, you can install TeamViewer 3 until TeamViewer 13. If you have Windows 7, you can install TeamViewer 4 until TeamViewer 13. If you have Windows 8, you can install TeamViewer 7 until TeamViewer 13. If you have Windows 8.1, you can install TeamViewer 9 until TeamViewer 13.

TeamViewer 10 until TeamViewer 13 is available for Windows 10 RTM v1507. TeamViewer 11 until TeamViewer 13 is available for Windows 10 v1607 (Anniversary Update) and Windows 10 v1703 (Creators Update). TeamViewer 12 until TeamViewer 13 is available for Windows 10 v1709 (Fall Creators Update).
