Hey Grayson carreon!

I am afraid that your PC is infected by autorun.inf virus. This virus has disabled your task manager. Well you do not worry about it. I have two solutions for you.

First, you can download Autorun remover. This software will protect you from autorun.inf virus. Just install this software and click on Fix System button. It will fix your Task manager, folder option, Safe mode etc. After that it will not allow autorun.inf to enter in your PC.

Secondly you can use VB 6 utility. This software will also enable your blocked Task Manager and Folder Option.

Here is the link to the software http://www.dougknox.com/xp/utils/xp_emergencyutil.zip

Thanks

Try the following steps below:

1. Go to the path: C:WINDOWSServicePackFilesi386 and then right-click from it and select Copy.

2. Open the directory: C:WINDOWSSystem32 and then right-click from it and select Paste.

3. You will be prompted with a dialogue box stating if you want to overwrite the file, select Yes and then try opening the Task Manager again.

And also, try running your antivirus software. Virus sometimes disabled your Windows applications.

Hello Dear,

Thanks for sharing your problem with us.

Dear this is very common error. It is a virus attack and this virus effects not only the task manager but also disables the windows registry.

You can recopy this file but it will replace again at each system start up.

If you want to re copy this file then make these steps.

1. Go to the folder C:WINDOWSServicePackFilesi386 and then right-click on task manager file from it and select Copy.

2. Open the folder C:WINDOWSSystem32 and then right-click from it and select Paste.

It will open task manage twice or thrice but when you will restart your computer it can create problem again. This problem can be overcame by reinstalling windows.

I hope it will help you.

Thanks
