Running games on PC can sometimes be very complicated. This may lead to a lot of errors which you don’t understand.

The error which you mentioned is known to occur in Windows Vista if you haven’t installed SP2 (Service Pack 2). You can upgrade your system from Service Pack 1 to Service Pack 2. Preferably try to upgrade to the latest version of Windows. However, if the problem persists,

  1. Trying updating GPU drivers.
  2. Checking compatibility of graphics card.

That error is obviously related to compatibility. Before installing the game, make sure your computer meets the requirements. The game “Call of Duty: Black Ops II” supports Windows Vista Service Pack 2 and Windows 7.

Call of Duty: Black Ops

It requires 2.66 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo or equivalent 2.4 GHz AMD Phenom X3 8750 or faster processor, 2 GB RAM for 32-bit and 4 GB RAM for 64-bit, NVIDIA GeForce 8800GT or ATI Radeon HD 3870 video card with 512 MB video RAM, Microsoft DirectX 9.0c, 16 GB hard drive space, and Microsoft DirectX 11.0c-compatible sound card.

If you are using Microsoft Windows Vista, make sure you are using Service Pack 2. You can download the Service Pack update from Windows Vista Service Pack 2. This is the latest and last Service Pack update for Microsoft Windows Vista. For users with Microsoft Windows 7, you can install the game on Windows 7 with or without Service Pack.

“Call of Duty: Black Ops II” was developed by Treyarch and published by Activision released on November 12, 2012. For more info, go to Call of Duty: Black Ops II on Steam.
