Sir, I am a non-computer science background student and know very little technical things. I am getting an error every time by my system while updating pre-installed software or installing updated files. The system display an error code 80070017 each time. So, Can you please help me to eradicate this problem?
This error is basically generated when you carry out your installation using a DVD Drive. So first measure to avoid this, is  try to install using FLASH DRIVE instead of DVD DRIVE. Or it may happen if the files you are trying to update may be corrupt or missing, so try and confirm if all the files are present and then try reinstalling.
But still if you are getting this error, then just open the console by  login as administrator and then writing a command : net stop wuauserv CD %systemroot%\SoftwareDistribution Ren Download Download.old net start wuauserv in command prompt and then try to run the update, you will get successful if your condition is the same as asked in the above query.
