Hello friends,

I installed Ubuntu 12.04 LTS 64-bit on my desktop having AMD Athlon X2 and Asus M3n78-NM motherboard with 4 gb ddr2 ram. My system resets [restarts] in any working time and it crashes a lot .I don't know what is the problem causing it to reset [restart] in between. 64-bit is not upto the mark for production line.

Does any one keep getting such problem with 64bit? Also, the installer is buggy. I tried to install it from cd without live session and it got reset [restarted] too, but from live session installation, it had no problem.

I need your help badly.

Hello Powel,

Since you are saying that you had issues during the installation, it is most probable that the problems that you are getting right now originated from there. To resolve the issue, the following workaround should be of great help:

  • You will need to reinstall the operating system.
  • If you have doubts with the installer you are using, I will highly recommend that you get another one that does not have issues.
  • Make sure that during the installation process you use the right commands to avoid bugs in the OS which may later cause issues like the one you are getting right now.

Regards,

Carl
