Hi experts,

I want to install LABview on my MAC 10.7 Mountain Lion but this error appears and I can’t do it anymore. The LAVview have the same extension like the others program have, so I can’t figure it out. Please help me to install LABview on my MAC. Tell me why is saying that it has a bad extension? Thank you!

System extension cannot be used

The system extension “/System/Library/Extensions/MonitorControl_drv.kext” was installed improperly and cannot be used. Please try reinstalling it, or contact the product’s vendor for an update.

I think the installation for NI LabVIEW went wrong or maybe something happened in the process that resulted in installing it improperly. If you haven’t tried reinstalling it yet, it is maybe a good idea to try and reinstall it. Before reinstalling it, make sure you still have its installer to avoid downloading it again. If you’ll be checking the programs compatibility over your operating system, I don’t see any problem.

NI LabVIEW fully supports Mac OS X 10.7 Lion and 10.8 Mountain Lion. I just got confused on the version of your operating system because you kind of mixed up Lion from Mountain Lion. Mac OS X 10.7 is the Lion edition and Mac OS X 10.8 is the Mountain Lion edition. NI LabVIEW supports Windows, Mac, and Linux operating systems.

For Windows users, it supports Windows Server 2003 R2 32-bit, Windows Server 2008 R2 64-bit, Windows XP Service Pack 3 32-bit, and 32-bit or 64-bit versions of Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8. For Mac users, NI LabVIEW supports Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard, 10.6 Snow Leopard, 10.7 Lion, and 10.8 Mountain Lion.

For Linux, it requires Linux kernel 2.2x, 2.4x, 2.6x, and or 3.x as well as GNU C Library 2.4.4 and higher [glibc]. When reinstalling NI LabVIEW, make sure you uninstall it first. Uninstalling a program in Mac is very easy. Simply deleting the application’s folder already uninstalls it. Once removed, restart your computer and install it again. Make sure not to open any other programs when installing NI LabVIEW.
