Hello,

Today I made a full install of System Center Configuration Manager 2012 with all functions like Application Catalog. When I want to connect to the server I have this error and I don’t know how to solve. Does anyone have a solution for this error ? Why I cannot connect ?

Thank you experts !

Cannot connect to the application server.

The website cannot communicate with the server. This might be a temporary problem. Try again later if the problem has been corrected. If this problem continues, contact your help desk.

If this is a fresh installation of Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager 2012, close your browser and restart your computer. Try it again after booting and see if it works. Users who encountered it in the past have tried installing it to a Web Application using a different name and it caused the problem. When installing, they decided not to use the default name CMApplicationSvc and use a different name instead.

They later found out that it is reason why the application cannot connect to the server after trying different things. To fix it, install the application using the defaults. Make sure also that CMApplicationCatalog is reverted to default. In your case, uninstall Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager 2012 then restart the computer.

When installing back, install Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager 2012 using all the default settings especially the default name CMApplicationSvc.
