Hi,

Is there something wrong with my Symantec Management Platform?

It is not being able to create a new product that I am trying to create.

Can anyone tell me what has gone wrong with it?

Hello,

Probably this error caused due to duplication or repetition of some components associated with software, there are some common components or drivers of a software which are associated with most of the commonly used software.

When this error occurs Click on “Manage” then “Software Catalog” and then below the managed section checks the box of “Include pre-defined Software Products”.

Software catalog

 Now this will show you all the software and their associated components that are present in the database.

From there you can edit or delete to terminate duplications.

There is another option to use “Include components associated with other products” present below the “Identify Inventory Tab”. This will show those specific components which are already associated with other software.

Then save the settings and if it prompts to disassociate those components to the new software select “No”.
