Hello,

I am new in the computing arena but I know the importance of having an antivirus. I installed Symantec on my computer but since then I get the following error on start up. Can anyone assist me to solve this error?

This version of Symantec Antivirus Win64 requires elevated privileges in order to install. Please log in as an administrator, or contact your network administrator for help.

From the error message, it is seen that you are trying to install Symantec Antivirus on Windows 8. Every setup process that has to be done in Windows Vista, 7 and 8, the setup program needs to have administrative power to make changes inside the PC. If the program doesn’t get an administrative permission, it has got nothing to do and the process is terminated.

Your solution is very easy. Right-click on the setup file and click on “Run as administrator”. This will help your program get the administrative power and complete the setup process with ease.
