Is it possible for me to be able to configure something in my Samsung Moment in order for me to watch videos that needs media flash player to play?

Whenever I tried playing videos of that kind, I am getting a message that says my phone doesn’t support videos of that type. I wonder if there is something in my phone that could be tweaked so I’ll be able to watch those videos.

Different phones support different types of media files to play. This only applies on the default media player of the device. If you want to upload some videos to your phone, you must know first what video formats does your phone supports.

Commonly mobile phones support 3GP video formats. Your phone supports these video types:

  • MPEG-4
  • H.263
  • H.264
  • WMV

Since your phone supports H.263 video format, you can play any 3GP video files. Your phone doesn’t support flash videos or FLV files. But I think there is a solution like what we usually do in Nokia phones.

If you can find, download and install an application on your phone that can play flash videos then your problem is solved. Otherwise, you need to convert flash videos to the supported video types of your phone to be able to play it.

Your phone also supports these audio formats:

  • AMR-NB/WB
  • MP3
  • PCM/WAV
  • AAC
  • AAC +
  • eAAC +
  • WMA
