I have an HP Pavilion 17 F053CA laptop. It has the following specification:

– Broadcom Corp. BCM43142 802.11 b/g/n

And I want to replace it with the following:

– Intel 7260HMW IEEE 802.11AC

– Dual-band, 2×2 WiFi plus Bluetooth 4.0 Mini PCI Express

Now, I want to know if this will be compatible with my HP Pavilion laptop. But if it's not compatible, will 802.11AC compliant wireless adapter work?

It depends on the operating system running on your laptop. If your HP laptop is using Microsoft Windows 7 or Microsoft Windows 8 or even Linux Ubuntu, you won’t have a problem. The Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 adapter supports these operating systems. This adapter is available in PCI Express and USB types.

Since you are using a laptop, you can use the USB version of the adapter. It supports dual mode Bluetooth 4.0 that will allow you to connect to the latest low-energy Bluetooth products. The Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 adapter supports Intel Wireless Display, Intel vPro, and Intel Smart Connect Technology. The 4G WiMAX Wireless Technology is not supported though.

It features a maximum speed of about 300 to 867 Mbps at 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz. It is 802.11 ac/a/b/g/n Wi-Fi certified.
