Following steps surely help you
1. See hidden files under your folder options.
2.You have to close the iTunes and disconnect your iDevice from your pc.
3.Please go to following directory:
C:Users*UsersName*AppDataRoamingApple ComputeriTunesDevice Support
4.You have to Backup the files available in the folder and delete them from that folder.
5.Lastly put your iPhone into Recover Mode and after that Restore the Custom firmware.

Hi James,

The error 29 that you are receiving is caused by incompatible battery.  If you have just changed your battery, you need to make sure that it is the same model as the old one.

You can also try the steps below and see if it will help fix the problem.

For Windows:

  • Click Start, then go to Programs then navigate to Accessories
  • Open Notepad or Wordpad
  • Click File Menu then select Open
  • Browse to this directory – Windows/System32/drivers/etc
  • Under File Type, select All Documents
  • Open "hosts"
  • Delete everything that has "gs.apple.com"
  • Click on Save
  • Try to restore your device again

For MAC:

  • Go to Applications folder
  • Then go to utilities folder
  • Launch Terminal
  • Then type this – sudo/nano/etc/hosts then press Return
  • Type in your password
  • Using the arrow key, navigate to the lines containing  “gs.apple.com” entires, then press # in front of the text
  • Press Control+O to save
  • Then press Control+X to exit the editor
  • Try to restore your device again

I hope this will help resolve your problem.
