Hi there,

Yesterday I was playing some games in steam mode and everything worked fine without any error. Today when I turned my PC and start the steam this error message appeared. I don’t know what happened with my steam in less than 24h. I don’t know how to fix and I don’t want to break it more than it is at this moment, so can anyone help me to fix this and tell me why I have this error today ?

Thanks !

Before you installed Steam Client on your computer, you should have checked first if the application is compatible with your computer. Fatal errors on programs like this one is mostly caused by incompatible systems and if you purchased that product then you are surely wasting your money. Good thing Steam Client is a free program from Valve, the creator of the popular multiplayer shooting game Counter-Strike.

Steam Client officially supports Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Mac OS X 10.5.8 Leopard, Mac OS X 10.6.3 Snow Leopard, and Linux. The program works both on x86 and x64 platforms. If your operating system is one of these, then it is not a compatibility issue. Try downloading the installer again from Install Steam Now.

Once downloaded, since Steam is still installed, uninstall it and then restart your computer. After booting the computer click Start, All Programs, Accessories, System Tools, and select Disk Cleanup. Select drive C and click OK. Check the box for “Temporary files” and click OK. Once Disk Cleanup is finished, run the installer you just downloaded and then run Steam again.
