Hi expert friends,

I am getting this error message when I am about to start Avast. While installation I am not mentioned about the missing dll file. But now it says it cannot load the dll and facing some problem in starting GUI. How to rectify this error? Really I need help. Thanks a lot.

HTMLayout.dll cannot be loaded to properly start GUI. Therefore process cannot continue.

DLL files are used in many different ways depending on what they are designed for as their function. Here, the faulty DLL file “HTMLayout.dll” is used, I think, to display the graphical user interface of the antivirus when starting the program. This DLL file is actually not missing but has only a problem when it is loaded by the program.

Since the problem has something to do with a DLL file, I tried checking out if I can find a similar file and I did found one. But unfortunately, the one I found is not meant for your operating system and is only for Microsoft Windows XP and also Windows 95 and Windows NT. Since the problem is with the graphical user interface of the program, just try reinstalling it.

Maybe the installation didn’t go so well though it didn’t alert you of any error during and after the installation. This is normal actually. You will only see the problem after the installation. And also, make sure to check the version of Avast if it is compatible with your operating system. Most often than not, this problem is caused by compatibility issue.
