I have SQL server 2005 installed on my Win XP SP 2 machine. When I try to do a modification on my DataBase, it throws up an error message.

“A bad Database error has occurred “in SQL server.

Upgraded my XP machine to latest SP 3, but the error does come back. It is a fresh installation of SQL and I do not have any previous version installed. Not sure if anyone can help me with this error.

SQL server 2005 error message while connecting with DB

Hi,

This error is a mysterious strange matter and I cannot predict exactly what the cause for this error is. There is a possibility of MS SQL files missing or corrupted. My advice is to uninstall SQL Server and reinstall it again and see what happens. You also upgraded to SP3 and if there was any incompatibility, it also can be fixed by reinstalling. May be your default database directory has been changed and windows is having problem to locate that. Ensure that your temp directory is not full and clear with enough free disk space available. If nothing is helpful revise your code for any error in the SQL syntax.
