Currently, Spotify only supports Microsoft Windows and Mac OS X but you can still install it on your Linux but you need to do it using Wine. Check first if you already have Wine installed. If you don’t have it, you need to install Wine before you can install Spotify. Click System, Administration then select Synaptic Package Manager. See image.

When you are prompted, enter your administrator password to continue loading Synaptic Package Manager. Select the “wine 1.2” package then click Apply. This will install Wine and you can find it after the installation in Applications then Wine. See image.

After installing Wine, click Spotify Download and then download the Windows version of Spotify. Once downloaded, navigate to the download folder then right-click the Spotify installer and then select “Open with Wine Windows Program Loader”. See image.

Just wait until it is finished and you can now enjoy using Spotify on your Linux Ubuntu.
