This message of a missing file is usually done by viruses. It is very odd for a file to be missing if you are not doing anything in your computer or if you have not done any installation of any software in your computer.

If you receive this odd missing file error message, update your antivirus and run a full-system scan on your computer.

But sometimes updating your antivirus at this stage is kind of useless since the computer is already infected and the antivirus did not even detect it.

Replace your current antivirus and try using McAfee Antivirus which offers free trial version from their website: https://www.mcafee.com/us/index.html, Norton Antivirus which is available in Symantec’s website: https://us.norton.com/downloads/, or Panda Cloud Antivirus which is the lightest antivirus that consumes very little of the computer’s memory and yet very effective, https://www.pandasecurity.com/usa/homeusers/solutions/free-antivirus/.

Then you should delete those start up viruses first then have a anti virus installed in your computer.

To delete the start up virus file:

1. Go to Safe Mode and then wait for the system to be ready.

2. Once the system is ready, go to this path C:Documents and Settings[User Name] or All UsersStart MenuPrograms.

3. Unhide first every thing to see if there are also hidden start up files in there.

4. Delete all unknown start up files, but make sure to keep the other for example Bluetooth.

5. Then reboot.

Now install anti virus software, search the net for a good software to buy or you can just use the Microsoft Security Essentials software that can be downloaded on the Microsoft website for free.

It runs a validation test first to see if your operating system is genuine.
