SP Database Over Size 30092

SPDatabase Over Size 30092 The existing installation contains more than 4 GB of data. You must have less than 4 GB of data in order to upgrade to a stand-alone installation of this product. Either reduce the size of the existing database or migrate the existing installation to a SharePoint farm configuration, and then re-run setup.

Hi! My Microsoft Office installer showed an Error: SPDatabase Over Size. What does this mean? I looked in the Office 2010 site for the definition it is an error 30092. It says that this happens when you have less than 4 GB of data but I have more than that! What’s wrong with it?

Hallo Hall,

You will need to check the status of your firewall. Is it turned off or on your SP server and on the DB server. Also check the account. Check if the Setup account, which is the account used to install the SharePoint bits and run the config wizard, has DBCreator and SecurityAdmin rights on the DB instance.

Regards,

Nicke

Hi Hall!

It will matter on what type or version of SP database you used because the database system installed by the Basic Installation of WSS 3 does NOT have the 4GB limit. But the database system installed by the Basic Installation of MOSS 2007 does have the 4GB limit. You must check first what version you used. If you have MOSS 2007, your only alternative is to use SQL Server 2005 or 2008 full editions. If you have WSS 3.0 and you are happy to use only one server for everything then you should install again and run the Basic installation. That will give you an empty database that is unlimited in size.

Thank You!
