Sound system is not working when yahoo messenger is used

Recently, I have a problem with my PC.

When I installed  and opened Yahoo Messenger and talked with my friend over voice chat,  my PC volume  stopped and mute button was automatically selected. 

What can you suggest for me to do?

Dear Jubayedjihan !

Sometimes we stuck up with yahoo default settings to follow these setups you can easily resolve this problem.
 
First of all go to yahoo messenger main windows (messenger window) Messenger / Preferences / Calling & Audio after clicking on calling and audio select the microphone input from the drop down option and then same procedure with speakers setting select the proper input and output the voice will work fine with all this procedure.
 
While you never mentioned that which PC are you using if your are using your laptop then check your laptop keys there is a key of mute also and if your using your desktop PC also check your PC Sound Settings.
 
Also check your MIC hope its working properly.

If you are using Yahoo Messenger to chat with your friends, try installing the latest. Download the latest Yahoo Messenger and install it. It supports Windows 7, Windows 8.x, and Windows 10. If you have Windows Vista or earlier, you can use the web app. Open your web browser and visit Yahoo Messenger Web App.

You need to sign in to your Yahoo account to use the web app. See if this fixes the problem. If this doesn’t work, try to uninstall and reinstall your sound card driver. Right-click “My Computer” and select “Properties.” Go to “Hardware” tab and click “Device Manager.” Expand “Sound, video and game controllers” then right-click your sound card and click “Uninstall.”

After this, close Device Manager and run the installer for your sound card to install its driver back. Once the sound card is reinstalled, try Yahoo Messenger again and see if it works. If this doesn’t work, try installing the latest driver for your sound card.
