Hi there,

I checked for the files in Program Files and I found it and also I can access it. Now every time I want to make the updates for Sophos this error appears. How can I skip them ? Why it still appears since I can access the folder ?

Thank you !

Sophos Auto Update error of missing source files

No, don’t check on the installation files of Sophos. The specific file you need to check is “ALsvc.exe” which is supposedly located in “C:Program FilesSophosAutoUpdatecachesauprogram filesSophosAutoUpdate”. To make sure the file is really there, start Windows Explorer and go to the location then find ALsvc.exe. If the file is present and still the program reports that it is missing and can’t be accessed then you should reinstall it.

An entry in the Windows registry that directs to this file or contains the path to the correct file must have been damaged or deleted that’s why it can’t find the file. Uninstall Sophos then click Start, All Programs, Accessories, System Tools, and then select Disk Cleanup. Select drive C and then click OK. Check “Temporary files” then click OK.

When it is finished restart your computer and then install Sophos back. Once installed, try if you can update the program to verify that it is already working.
