Sophos Anti Virus setup error while installing

The issue here is either related to your user account or your operating system is not supported by the version you are installing. Regarding your user account, make sure you are using an administrator account when installing the Sophos antivirus because a limited user account is not allowed to do an installation in most cases especially when you are installing an antivirus because it requires global update on the operating system.

If you are using a limited user account which is not allowed to install a program that will cause a system wide update, ask your administrator to install the antivirus for you on your workstation. On the other hand, if you are installing an old version of the antivirus, it would be better to install the latest version instead. Download and install Sophos Endpoint Antivirus.

Since you are using Windows XP, you can install the latest version if you have Windows XP [Home or Professional] Service Pack 2 and up. If you are not using a Service Pack or you are only using Service Pack 1, you need to update to either Service Pack 2 or Service Pack 3. Download and install Windows XP Service Pack 3. This is the latest and last Service Pack for Microsoft Windows XP which ended support on April 8, 2014.
