We all know that an 18 year old Michael Brown who was a unarmed black man was shot and killed by a police officer Darren Wilson in Ferguson, Missouri on 9th August 2014. Right from that Monday night the situation in Ferguson is worsening day by day. It is said that the main cause for this due to the Social Media like Facebook, Twitter, etc. Is Social Media worsening the situation in Ferguson?

I don’t think the social media is worsening the situation with the Ferguson shooting. I agree with what they are doing if they are asking for support. I also think the incident that happened that day is overkill. I mean, that’s a kid and not a full grown adult. Whether it is an adult or a teenager, if the would be suspect tried to attack you as a response, if you are the police, I know it is an SOP not to hit the person fatally.

You can hit him in the legs or in the arms just to make the person or to prevent the suspect from escaping. But even if the suspect provoked you and you have no choice but to shoot, I guess it is not necessary to fire 12 rounds on an unarmed person or assailant.

Mr. Brown’s body was 153 feet east of Officer Wilson’s SUV while Mr. Brown’s blood was around 25 feet east of his body. With this evidence, it is clear that Mr. Brown continued moving towards the officer even after being hit the first time. The officer misjudged the situation. The officer shouldn’t continue firing after he hit the suspect once or twice because the guy is unarmed.
