SNMP is implemented as a Windows32 system service .  There are actually two SNMP services under Windows NT.  First is the SNMP agent service (SNMP.EXE )  processes SNMP request messages that it receives from SNMP management systems and sends GetResponse messages in reply. The  service that follows is the SNMP trap service (SNMPTRAP.EXE ), which listens for traps sent to the NT host. I give you this link to research more about this.

It also lays out easy straight forward ways of installation.
