Hello, I am using Skype in my MAC operating system. But during telephone calling sometimes the call is aborted and problem occurred with ERROR 1040. I looked for help in the Skype service but didn’t find any option. Can you tell me something by which I can fix this problem?

The miscellaneous error #1040 in Skype for Mac OS X operating system means that the telephone number you are calling is invalid or is incorrectly entered. Be sure to enter the numbers in the right sequence. If the number you are calling is from another country, the correct format is Country Code + Area Code + Telephone Number or if it is a mobile number, Country Code + Mobile Prefix + Mobile Number.

If you are sure that the number you are calling is correct and is in the right format, try uninstalling Skype then check your computer for any possible errors. Use a disk utility application to check the system. After the disk check restart your computer. After booting the computer, install Skype again. You can try calling again the number.
