Hi everyone,
I am johnsmith a new to Linux. Anyways I have been using the distro of suse linux, and I find it to be not to my needs. I need a distro that is easy to use. I was looking into mandrake Linux. So I was wondering if mandrake runs well under old computers something with a Pentium processor 1 with 3 GB HD Space. Also is mandrake as easy as it says it is?

Simple Questions About Mandrake Linux
Â
Dear Johnsmith21,
Â
Linux Mandrake or now commonly called mandriva Linux is the one of distro Linux that gave priority to convenience for its users, especially for the beginner in Linux world.
Â
However, if you are using an old computer with specs Pentium 1 and a 3 GB Hard disk space, I would suggest a Linux distro that is lighter than mandriva.
Â
You could try using VectorLinux standard version, it will run smoothly with 64 MB RAM. You can also use the dsl or puppy Linux as an alternative option.
Â
Hopefully my answer enough to help you in determining the appropriate Linux distro. If you still feel confused, you can follow the Linux forums on the internet.
Â
Good luck.
