I have non-technical employees that I want to start generating reports using DB reporting tools. I know about Crystal Reports and I think this is not the tool I need because you will need a fair amount of knowledge in database, how to generate queries, and other stuffs that might be a waste of time to learn.

What DB reporting tool would you suggest that is very easy to use that even my non-technical employees can easily get a hang of?

I would like to suggest to you the simple database reporting tool known as Reportizer. It is very easy to use and is as user-friendly. There is a Visual report designer where in your employees can edit the reports with great property checker and tool bars. There is also SQL editor wherein queries are encoded with grammar highlighting and code completion. Reportizer also has report generator which support planned expressions, groupings, calculated fields such as totals and subtotals and many more. It will not be hard for your employees to convert formats since it has been tested in different formats such as dbf, db, txt, csv, Interbase, MS Excel, Oracle, MS Access, HTML, SQL Server, Visual FoxPro, PostgreSQL and MySQL. It can also construct and produce file reports. I hope this will help you. Thanks.
