My broadband isn’t able to detect my SIM. I have used this the other day and it was doing well.

Now that I plugged in the device it wouldn’t even detect the SIM.

What do I do now?

The SIM /USIM card has not been detected or is invalid.

Prompt

Hi,

It seems that an unlocking code can manage this setback. You should look for the releasing codes in the website.

There is a different technique to use your SIM. Download the firmware update and install it in your pc. I hope it will work. Just, glimpse in the beneath link to learn better.

Hello John,

Disconnect your modem from PC and remove the SIM from it. Reinsert it and close the back cover. Go to Control Panel> Programs and Settings> Uninstall or Change a Program> Remove the Modem Software. Plug the Modem to your computer and install the software when prompted and check if the problem has been sorted.

If not, Contact to your nearest Service Center of Dialog.

This problem happens to me very frequently. If the broadband stick is still working the other day then so is the SIM card. Wireless broadband stick like this one is not that easily to get broken. You can stop worrying now because your mobile broadband dongle is not broken or something if that’s what you are thinking.

The main cause of the problem is the SIM card but I’m not saying that your SIM card is already broken. The usual cause why this happens on wireless broadband modems is when you infrequently remove the SIM card from the modem’s slot. The side of the SIM card that directly contacts to the slot’s connectors attracts dirt.

Dirt develops on the surface of the contacting side that prevents the SIM card from completely connecting to the connectors. You just need to clean this part with a clean cloth to remove the accumulated dirt. Rub the cloth with your finger on the entire contacting surface until it is clean. See image.

You will notice that after cleaning the SIM card and inserting it on the broadband stick, the device will again detect it as before.
