Silverlight 5 on Visual Studio2010 Professional-Installation failed

I don’t understand why this error message shows when I’m trying to install Silverlight 5, even though I have Visual Studio 2010 Professional installed in my PC.

Here are some fix that you can do to resolve this kind of installation problem.

  • Open your Visual Studio 2010 and repair it. This is the main cause of the installation error that you are getting. If you are not seeing any error upon opening this, chances are your Visual Studio does not have Service Pack 1. Make sure you have the Service Pack required.
  • Un-install your Visual Studio and reboot your pc. Install it again and make sure to install Service Pack 1 as well.
  • Reinstall your Silverlight 5 tools.
