There are different possibilities why this problem occur in your computer.  First, the program, Shutdown Timer, is corrupted or not working properly. In this case, the best way to fix it is to uninstall and reinstall the program. There are several ways to uninstall this properly. First method is to use a professional uninstaller program such as Revo or Special Uninstaller (To download it, just type it in Google to search for free version). Launch it to trigger the built-in uninstaller of Shutdown Timer then a popup box will appear initiating the uninstall process. Another method would be to uninstall it through Windows add/remove applet. Just go to your control panel and select ‘add/remove’ then look for Shutdown Timer. Right-click on it then click ‘uninstall’. To make sure that the program is completely removed, look for its hidden file. Open ‘My Computer’ then go to ‘Tools’ and select ‘Folder Options’. Go to ‘View’ tab and select ‘Show hidden files and folders’. Then go Start Menu and click ‘Search’. Type ‘Shutdown Timer’ and start the search. Once you see the folder, delete it. After that process its now time to clean the registry. Begin by going to Start Menu then click ‘Run’. Type “regedit”, click enter, and the Windows Registry opens up. Look for these registry keys:
HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareShutdown Timer Portable (version number)
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESoftwareprogram name)
(HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESoftwareMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionRuneg ui)
Delete them and restart your machine.
Another possibility why this error happens is that your machine’s hard drive is almost full. You mentioned that you also get this error on other programs as well. Applications usually crash when there is no enough space on your disk.  In this case, check your main hard drive and make sure that you still have 1 GB space free. If you only have less than 1 GB, its time for you to do a clean-up. Remove unnecessary applications or use some clean-up tools if you have any.
Finally, virus or malware could also be one of the possibilities. These malicious files can cause great damage to your application, causing them not to work properly. Make sure that your computer is virus-free by running a complete scan.
Hope this helps. Goodluck!
