Shortcuts and icons. What are these?

I have reinstalled windows and some software.

Now I have some icons on desktop.

Some icons have an arrow on their faces and some not.

What is the matter?

Hello Dear,

In fact the icons and shortcuts represent the whole program behind them.

All those icons that have arrow on their faces are shortcuts.

Shortcut has no its own property.

But icons have complete property which its belonging program has.

Shortcuts can be created of any program but we cannot make any icon for a system file. We can create only shortcuts.

Shortcuts are those desktop icons that give users to easily see and select the programs specially the one that the users installed. Most of the programs or software that the user installed have the arrows on the shortcuts. While the icons that don’t have arrows are the one that the operating system comes or installed when you buy it which already visible on the desktop.
