Since the machine connects to various networks at different times that share the same IP range, but are not the same network, Windows searches for other clues as to identify the network. That includes querying the DNS servers.

here is a solution…

Right click on the taskbar Network system tray icon.

->) Click on Network and Sharing Center and then on the customize button.

To Change the Network Name

->) Change the Network Name to a new name.

To Change the Network Location Type

->) Change the Network Location Type to either Private or Public.

Click on Next.

->) Click on Continue in the UAC prompt.

You will see one of these next.

->) Left for Public location.

->) Right for Private location.

Click on Close.

   Hope this will help

The following is the likely thing that could have happened that is making the servers network type that you are using to change from private to public:

It could have happened due to the possibility that  some computer on the network that you are on has the capability to connect to multiple different networks over the course of its life that it shares the same internet protocol range with, but then the computers are not on the same network. This scenario forces the Windows Server to look for other clues so that it can be able to identify the network to use, and that clues involve the querying the Domain Name Service servers on the network.

What the server does is that it ends up identify some other domain name server that is of a public network, and therefore leading to the problem that you are experiencing.
