Screen goes black on occasion

I purchased a laptop about 3 months ago, and the screen just goes black on occasion. I'm afraid to wait too long to report it but also do not want to go through the hassle of a return if it is something I can troubleshoot myself. Any suggestions or tips on what I can try?  It is an ASUS laptop. Thanks.

Screen goes black on occasion

Try this:

  • Remove battery.
  • Remove charger.
  • Hold down the power button for 30 – 60 seconds to drain the power.
  • Put the charger back and start it.

If the problem persists  then it is a hardware issue. Contact your retailer and exchange for the defective machine for a new one.

Some of the possible causes are either bad cable, electrical short or faulty power supply.
