Hello

I have tried to set up Notepad++ on two PCs but got the following installer error

Mention that, I used Windows7 Ultimate 64bit on my Pc and also the Installer package. What should i do now? Please help. Thanks.

Error: SciLexer.dll installer-error

There are few possibilities for this error to occur.

Make sure you are running the setup with administrative privileges. If you are running with administrative rights then you should not get this error. Try to check whether you have any running process of Notepad++ if you have already installed older version of Notepad++.

Kill that process and then install it will work. Even then it doesn't work shutdown your system wait for 5-10 minutes then start the system install the tool in other than C:\program files directory. This should work. Please let me know if you need anymore information or help on this if you are still facing the problem.

This could happen because of few reasons. You should first
 
Make sure you are using an administrator account in your pc because without administrative privileges you cannot install some applications
 
 
And remove if you have any similar version installed before. .
 
And download the setup again a fresh file not the one you used before
 
Also disable your antivirus and firewall until the installation is done.
