Hallo Ayswaria,

Did you check the scanner settings? May be you had switched to the printer or photocopier mode and for you to be able to use the scanner again you will need to restore the scanner settings. Also check if the ink is enough for the scanner tend to use a lot of ink compared to the other two and that might be the possible cause of the problem; the printer running on low cartridge.

But check that the scanner settings have been configured well; I highly suspect that the problem is with how you have configured the settings on the printer.

Hope this helps.

If the only problem with your printer/scanner is the scanning function that produces black and white output, I think you need to check the software you used to do the scanning. The printer/scanner only scans the image in the document and the manner it scans the image depends on the software you used. You usually get the black and white output if the software is set to black and white.

You should check the settings of the program to verify that it scans the image in colored. If the problem continues, try using a different program to do the scanning. Normally, the black and white setting is used when scanning documents. Even if the page it scans is in colored, the black and white setting will convert the image to black and white.

Check the preset used by the software and make sure it is not set to use the Black and white, Black and white from color page, or Grayscale preset. If the software is set to use one of these presets, select Color and restart the scan. See image.
