Hello Tehyv buddies!

I am having some problem in opening Quickbooks 2012 on SBS 2011.

I can open the program however, in order to use it the firewall must be turned off.

My problem is how can I use the program without turning the firewall off?

Can I use it while the firewall is on?

Can anyone help me configure this issue?

Thank you!

Hello Elias,

The firewall on your computer is blocking the QuickBooks application.

To workaround that issue you will need to do the following:

  • Go to the control panel and then choose security center.
  • You will then click onmanage security settings for firewall.
  • Next, you will click on the exception tab.
  • After that select theadd program tab,  and then browse and click on QuickBooksto add it into the program and services list as an exception.
  • Once you do that, the firewall you have on your computer will not block you from using QuickBooks again.

Hope this helps.

Regards,

Carl

Firewall may be blocking QuickBooks 2012.

So you have to manually configure your Firewall program to allow QuickBooks run on your computer.

Follow the steps below for allowing QuickBooks:

1. Click Start > Control Panel > Security > Windows Firewall.

2. On the left pane, click Allow a program through Windows Firewall. If you will be asked for an Administrator password, type the password.

3. Search for QuickBooks 2012 and then tick the check box to allow and then click OK.
