Hello Paul,

If you were using a different charger that is not meant for Samsung Galaxy prevail then it is possible to get such a problem from an electronics point of view.

As to whether the problem is fixable, I highly doubt that unless you just obtain a new battery. That issue with batteries is there, but the problem is that they are not known by the service centers. So in your case I highly suggest that you get another battery or try contacting the support center and see if they might have a remedy for you.

Hope this helps.

Regards,

Carl

Have you tried to use another charger and plug it to your phone and a new battery to test if you will be getting the same message? If you will not get the same message again, this is probably because of a broken charger or the battery itself. If you are still receiving the same message, then the problem would be your phone. Check if you still have the warranty and bring it back to where you bought it. I heard there are a lot of Samsung Galaxy Prevail users are encountering the same issue.
