Sametime Login Error. Client Unauthorized.

After I had upgraded Lotus Notes Client to version 8.5.3 it could no longer connect to the server. Instead it shows this error message: "Sametime Login Failed – Reason: Unable to log in to the Sametime server x because this client is not authorized. Please contact your system administrator."


Any ideas out there? Thanks.

Because you have upgraded your lotus notes did you configure also the sametime server for it to fit on the updated software?

I think upgrading your previous version of Lotus Notes client to this current version now, Lotus Notes 8.5.3 may require a different registration code or license key and the previous license key is already not working for this version.

In this case, you may have to buy a new registration code for your current Lotus Notes 8.5.3 to make the application work.

To make sure also that the application is installed properly and that the error doesn’t have to do with its registration key, try doing another clean installation of the program again to restore it to its default configuration and possibly fix any corrupted files that may have developed in the application.

Uninstall Lotus Notes 8.5.3 from your machine then restart your system when asked. After booting, check your computer for any possible errors.

Use a disk utility application to check the system. Install the application again after this and then see if this fixes the problem.

You should also consider checking the settings of the application so you can verify that it is connecting to the right server address, with the right user name and password, and with the right port number maybe.
