I am a graphic designer. I use a Dell Inspiron 14 (1464) laptop. This is the specifications of this laptop- Processor: Intel Core i3 330M, OS: Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit), Memory: 4GB Shared Dual Channel DDR3 at 1066MHz, Storage: 500GB HDD, Graphics:   Intel Graphics Media Accelerator HD, Display: 14.0” HD (1366×768) LED Display and webcam.

For my work I use an external monitor (Philips 20" LCD Monitor) with this laptop for big display. But the problem is same collar is not showing same in 2 displays. I can’t understand which color is original.

I give u an example- Laptop’s display is showing red background of a photo but external monitor is showing this color is look like as red but not same as Laptop’s display color. What should I do?

You can verify the problem exactly by checking color index number which is like #FF0000 in any graphics application (Photoshop). If they are same and the colors are different there is issue with the settings.

In the Device manager go to LCD monitor properties and ensure that the drivers are working fine. Set the Resolution of the LCD monitor to 1600 X 1200 and set resolution in Laptop 1200 X 800 for best display settings and check for the color similarity.

If it looks like the same you need to reinstall or update the LCD monitor driver to latest one.  Also remember to check the VGA cable from Laptop to Monitor for any defect and if there any replace it.

I have to give you an advice for you. That is I do not recommend a Laptop for Graphic designing work because it will shorten the life of laptop battery as well as the life of the hardware components due to the extreme heat generated in side.

A desktop could have been a better choice.
