Safari opens up with multiple pages

I have downloaded Safari that used to open with yahoo as its home page. But now recently I have noticed that it opens with multiple windows. Why is this so? How can I change the settings like they were before?

Hello,

I will guide you through the process of changing your startup page in Safari. Follow the instruction:

  1. Start Safari by clicking on its icon
  2. When the window opens up, look to the right hand side of the search bar. You will see a gear shaped icon. Click on it
  3. Select “Preferences” from the drop down menu
  4. Make changes like it is shown below

 

 

     5. Restart Safari and you should have yahoo.com opening up as your homepage again
