Running System File Checker is the first thing you may want to try. It will scan and fix any corrupted system files on the Operating system. Go to Start > All Programs > Accessories > Right click on the Command Prompt > Choose Run as Administrator on the Security Tab > Click on Command Prompt > Type SFC /Scannow.

Try to back up your data files as it may also be helpful if you do a system restore on your computer. To do system restore, login via Safemode > click on Start > Click on Programs > Click on Accessories > Click on System Tools > Click on System Restore > Choose a date prior to when the issue started > Restart the computer.

Karlos Hilton,

You can try the following steps which can solve your issue –

1. Turn on your windows.

2. Wait for the error message to show up.

3. When the error message appears, Run the Task Manager.

4. You will be able to view the task which is responsible for the error.

5. Click on the respective task > Go to Process.

6. Click the highlighted process > Open File Location

7. Windows Explorer will open.

8. You  can now see the application name.

9. Go to Uninstall programs > Look up for the application name

10. Uninstall the application.

11. Restart the PC.

In addition you can reinstall the Runtime components of Visual C++ library. This can solve your issue.

If you are using FileZilla on Windows Vista, I don’t think that will work because FileZilla dropped support for Windows XP and Windows Vista. The latest version at the moment, FileZilla 3.26.2, supports Windows 7, Windows 8.x, and Windows 10. This is probably the reason why you receive a runtime error on Microsoft Visual C++.

The only way to use FileZilla on Windows Vista is to install an older version. For users with Windows XP and Windows Vista who can no longer install the latest version, download one of the following old versions of FileZilla according to your platform version:

  • FileZilla 3.10.3 (RC 1) 32-bit – this download is for 32-bit Microsoft Windows. It supports Windows 98, Windows 2000, Windows NT, Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8.x including Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2008, and Windows Server 2012.
  • FileZilla 3.10.3 (RC 1) 64-bit – this download is for 64-bit Microsoft Windows. It supports 64-bit Windows 98, Windows 2000, Windows NT, Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8.x including Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2008, and Windows Server 2012.

For users with supported operating systems, go to FileZilla for Windows. The latest version supports Windows 7, Windows 8.x, and Windows 10.
